Pros
The two main filters are washable. Cleaning the filters every 4 months is not a hassle. It helps to remove dog odor in the air. It cut down my dusting from twice a day to barely once a week.

Cons
Get one that does not 'ionize' or one that uses a hepa filter system. Cleaned the filter and unable to reset light (following the reset procedure in the manual) not impressed.

I am very impressed with this product.
The smell should dissipate in a few days, but the long term health benefits definitely outweigh dealing with the smell for a little while.
The three titles above do not relate to the product so i couldn't rate the stars under these titles.
Cons: there's a strong chemical/plastic type smell that the pre-filter gives off initially, and the smell could linger for a few days.
Packaging/appearance
Maybe washing and drying the pre-filter initially could help reduce or eliminate the smell.
You have to take out one of the cleanable filters and put in the odor filter.
