Dc motors are very, very quiet and don't whine like ac fan motors do. On the highest setting the fan is very loud, as expected. I use this purifier in my dedicated office room that's nearly silent and the noise/whine from the fan motor is annoying.

The lights are very bright, even after we covered them with electrical tape. Auto mode has a bright green led pointing at the bottom to let you know that it is on.

There is a lot happening that you don’t see such as the size of particulate matter being filtered the pollen you are being spared breathing and the fact that you can monitor air flow of the filters by the color of the lights visible under the unit and on the control panel on top
