Pros

There are mega allergens in florida and my hubby and i really needed this purifier. Had the sq. Unit itself works fantastic, bought another for family members. We run it 24 hrs a day every day, and so far it has been reliable.

The hepa filters are not washable but can be vacuumed too. My local electric company also sells and recommends them but amazon has the better prices. My only displeasure, on my second box of black filters.

There's a noticeable difference in my room versus the hallway and rest of the house in the amount of dust you can see in the sunlight. They pull a lot of dust from the air and allergies are much better.

The sound on the low setting is like white noise, and i don't find it objectionable. I wish it wasn't so loud, it's like bringing an air conditioning unit inside. This version has a clear backing that lights up for the mode it’s in.

It tells you when there are voc's in the air and it kicks into high gear. It’s pretty big and can be a little annoying to move around or try to find someplace to store it.

Cons

The only sound we hear from the hpa300 is airflow. Each setting causes the clicking to get louder. Sometimes it just randomly starts making a loud rattling noise.

Light up top is fancy and shows relative vocs in the air like some other air quality meters, easy to dim or turn off.

Bought this after my winnex purifier stopped working after 4 years.

Thank goodness that i can get pads at a reasonable price---unlike other machines!

Competitiveness

Uses the same filters as our other hpa 300 so happy with that aswell.

This works great for pet odors and smoke----absolutely love this option, and i don't think any other brand offers this.

I also recommend only the 300 model as i purchased and returned the 200 model as it is not as effective.

There are other similarly priced purifiers that i think look sleeker and have more functionality.
