Pros & Cons
Pros
Mine is always kept at medium, night and day. It clears up my sinuses immediately. Clean it every two weeks with a solution of citric acid. Easy to sleep or converse while it is on.
The honeywell quietcare is an evaporative humidifier.
Got it for my 800 sq ft. Toronto condo a week ago. I have an older model fir years which works just great. This one is able to maintain 40% rh in my condo.
Cons
I have this humidifier running day and night in a medium sized room and it barely increases humidity by 2% in my apartment. The whole thing could easily be more compact, there's too much space wasted by the big * white plastic shroud. A tiny ultrasoni... Read More
The filters are super expensive and are complete garbage. At $10 bucks or more each that is way to pricey to make it worth running. The 3 years warranty is a joke.
The filter/wick gets dry and crusty very quickly. I check to see if the filter is damp from me gently soaking it in tap water before insertion and now before powering on the unit. The filter has black mould on it.

Price
Im very happy with, i would like the second one but its a little bit expensive (only for me, not in general)
Filters last only a month (at $16 each can get costly).
With evaporative humidifiers, you'll need to purchase a consumable wick - which are about $15 each, and theoretically last 1-3 months.
The only issue i have is the replaceable filter & the cost.

This unit arrived on time, damage free.
It took a few days but was successful.
Packaging/appearance
Even though the box said it comes with a filter it did not have one in the box but was credited when i contacted amazon.
As stated, there would be damage to the original box and possibly cosmetic damage to the product but there was no damage to the product.
Competitiveness
This humidifier has a filter compared to most that don't.
While it's still not "easy" to clean (due to a couple hard to reach places), compared to ultrasonics - it's absolutely night and day.
I did not find i noticed a huge difference in the humidity level when using it compared to an ultrasonic humidifier.
