After investigating a lot of options the jasco products seem to be the most reasonably priced.
Easy installation, works well with my smartthings hub and amazon alexa
The ge version (model 28167 - also made by jasco) costs a few dollars more, but off is off no matter what i plug in to it.
No more difficult than usual for setting up as a z-wave device.

Had to reset it to get smartthings to add it almost like it was used previously but once reset it added to the system right away and works on timers and voice activation

My vivint system recognized it immediately i pushed the button and boom i can control the lights from my panel app or google home

I tried a different dimmer from a different brand and it would never actually turn off the led bulbs they would only dim way down
