Pros
The convenience and effectiveness of the machine is delightful to a bi-weekly carpet cleaner. One of the wheels wobbles a little, but it not impact the performance or ease of use. Very satisfied with the machine.
The suction is phenomenal. The sprayer on the hand held attachment is excellent, so much so that i used it to pre-soak my carpet rather than the one on the actual vacuum.
Hoover powerscrub xl pet carpet cleaner. If you want a carpet cleaner, this is it. Not best for treating stains, but it's good for cleaning it up.
As you can see in one of the pics, this is only the latest in the hoover products i personally own. Happy so far with the purchase. This version is a lot better. Update,based on experience with earlier model.
Cons
Harold' ends the chat with no indication if, when, how or even if they will get back to you! Multiple calls to their 800 number are unanswered, they promise to put in the que and call you back. Called hoover for 2 hours to only be disconnected.
The machine works well but it has a major design flaw. The detergent tank was down to a quarter tank. The cleaning solutions are extremely expensive.

I did the other half of the room with a 3 year old hoover product.
The stairs did require second pass with the scrub head.
Price
They were excellent little workhorses but their longevity was obvious by their price.
Packaging/appearance
Took out all the stains i struggled with getting up!
I’ve noticed that there’s a slight delay on the brush’s turning on.
Competitiveness
Hopefully it’ll last me far longer than the other 3 🙂.
It's not exactly same as the rental models.
Bissel has been good but more difficult to work with than the hoover brand.
I decided on a hoover again because they get the job done and do it well for the price point!

The water tank is quite small and needs to be refilled every 510 minutes

The instructions say that the machine will warn you when the dirty water tank is full

If that happens the machine will continue to operate as normal but youre not actually cleaning or rinsing the carpet

After using the machine you have to take it apart and clean it

When you reassemble it make sure all the latches are fastened properly

I missed one small latch the first time i put it back together and the machine seemed to be operating normally but it wasnt actually cleaning anything
