The feature where you spin the filter to have it flick off dust from the filter fins doesnt work any longer

We threw out the old filter and got a new one at the same time as we installed this retainer so its hard to say if the fault lies with the retainer or the new filter

But if you look closely you will see it is in fact three layered just all layers are white as their website states
