Pros & Cons
Pros
The dualshock has the softest dpad. Fighter gamers might get sore as you get used to the resistance. Despite some saying it felt spongy, it works very well.
It works with the ps3, ps4 and ps5(with backwards compatible ps4 games). This means you can get a lot of mileage out of this controller.
It is a slight nitpick as it still functions very well. Turbo function is nice. takes some getting used to.
Cons
The * controller is light, but the d-pad is non responsive. This is unacceptable in a controller made to work for fighting games, which require precision. The shape of the controller is terrible and all the * are awkward to use.
Top 6 * are too big and spaced too far apart. You have to press really hard for the diagonal to register. The turbo * also have some issues. The silicon and the contact point on the silicon over x was ripped.
The biggest problem is the slow responsiveness of the d pad. You feel as if the d-pad is sitting atop a pointy rock. Overall this pad is not worth the money.
Why is this a thing? Sadly this one is not good whatsoever. Be warned. No more.
Highlights
Quality
Other than those 2 small things this is a great product!
While i play it with the 8bitdo m30 controller on the switch, this wasn't an option for the ps4 without a couple adapters.
I got it because the dpad on another controller i use sucks for fighting games.
Off course it’s mostly my fault, but most of the described won’t fail with the ps4 controller.
Price
But the price makes it worth it.
A simple rubber that would cost 2$ to replace costs me 40$ to buy another.
Packaging/appearance
There is a toggle switch to switch the d-pad to the left or right stick.
I'd also heard the d-pad was stiff.
Competitiveness
Worked seemlessly for both my ps4 and pc.
Having a webbed d-pad helps sometimes, but this is personal preference.
I do well on a ps4 controller, but not even close to the first one.
It's a hard piece of plastic but its better than the sn30 pro (plus) d-pad.
