Pros
The locking mechanism is pretty cool but it is kinda loud. I'm disappointed about the materials that had obviously been removed from the blister pack in my safe, but it's a good locker.
It came packaged with everything it was supposed to with simple, easy to understand instructions. Easy setup. Feels solid and instructions were easy to follow. read the directions thoroughly.
The unit opens nicely with damping. The code keypad and rfid chips both unlock the door quickly and smoothly. But wanted the key fob.
It is built well, has nice handles, and hydraulic dampers for opening. Unit is sturdy and perfect for narrow areas.
Cons

Is this the quality or product and service hornady is striving for? Purchased this at turner's and returned it after 1-2 weeks. That unit was then sold to me. Was missing rfid items, and the internal packing had been retapped down.
Highlights
Quality
Good: well made, everything performs as expected.
It is well made and the rfid system works very quickly and efficiently.
Bad: door overlaps front of cabinet and there is a gap when locked, making it easy to pry on the door.
You can turn off the beeping noises it makes when you press the buttons but when the lock disengages it makes a loud clang.
Price
This is a great value for the money.
I’m pleased with it for the price, size, and function.
The price is just a little high but it is worth it.
I thought it was priced a little high too, but: inflation.
Shipping
They sent me a shipping label and i shipped the old one back and promptly received a new one.
Packaging/appearance
It came packaged with everything it was supposed to with simple, easy to understand instructions.
I also opened up the motor gearbox and found it completely dry.
The packaging was on point no assembly.
The other reason that i gave it a 4 and almost a 3 is because the contents of the box that it came in was visible
Competitiveness
If you want a slide out drawer you'll have to buy a more expensive brand and use a key/keypad.
The hornady ar locker is a decent alternative to a pricier truck vault product.

If thats a deal breaker then you need to reconsider your lifestyle and the bracelet rfid thing is probably right up your alley

I looped bungie chords around the handles and hooked then to the child seat attachments on the back of the second row seats

I do agree that this makes a loud noise upon popping open but this is to be expected as if this units door did not open in this fashion you would not have immediate unrestricted access to your firearms
