From the title, i assumed it was a non fiction book about racial inequality in america.

Jemisin is artistic and versatile with her descriptions of other worlds, times and situations.

If youre already a fan of her novels such as the mutlipleawardwinning series starting with the fifth season you might be reluctant as i was to dive into her short fiction

Some really good ones include one about a chef who finally finds a challenge worth her talent a story about first contact that gets progressively creepier and one about generally about connection time and the internet that id actually read in another anthology but reread because it was just so dang good

My only issue was that if youre a bingereader like i am the number of times sexual violence and reproductive coercion comes up is kind of taxing
