Pros

Hp 12c is still the standard by which all other financial calculators are judged. Reverse polish notation (rpn) is backwards as compared to how most calculators work--but works naturally for calculations the way our minds work.

Cons

Carefully packaged and works fine but the plastic case of calculator is significantly warped. Could be a lemon, or more concerning it may not be a legitimate hp manufactured product.

I feel like i’m cheated and very disappointed. Save you money and buy something else and stop supporting shoddy products.

The hp12cp is an odd ball alg calculator from this viewpoint. I was duped into buying the 12cp and immediately noticed the poorer design. It's a shame, because the durability of the original 12c is legendary.

Everything about it is shabby worksmanship. The numbers are smallish by today's standards. It is like not all the pixels are firing on all cylinders.

Not expensive too and lasts a long time.

Not sure why market price of these new went from about $80 to $40.

I would pay more for a nicer version!

Alternatively, i bought the hp12 c "app" for my iphone pro max 11 which is in "color" and has the brightness of the iphone.
