Great viewing on bright screen, lightweight, quiet and long battery life (despite the time in storage).

I tested with some basic web browsing and the battery last only about 5 hours.

I had/have several older laptops/notebooks - none of the ferrite beads get hot - not even warm while charging.

Price

As an electrical engineer with 40+ years in it industry, this us$250 unit was a perfect fit for the friend who i was setting up.

I think keeping an eye out for vendors clearing out 'new-old stock' is a win-win if the price is right.

Packaging/appearance

Lots of people complain in the reviews that the box was opened.

In order to put the additions onto the laptop they had to open the box.

Competitiveness

It was a pity that hp took money from mcafee to pre-load their pester-ware anti-virus software.
