Pros & Cons
Pros
I'm prepping my kids for their 11+ exam. With toner replacements for less than 20 quid, this is perfect for printing off past papers without having to consider the cost. Print quality is nice and sharp, and far quicker than any inkjet.
It's perfect for foiling. Great footprint for home use. When folded up takes up a small amount of space.
Cons
I think many potential consumes would have the same goals/motivations in considering this product as me; if they do, they will be disappointed. It seems that standards have slipped at hp, which is a shame because they used to be a brand that you could... Read More
The printer overheats after just printing 10 pages. This is clearly a problem with the toner. Printing a 30 page document using manual duplex (printing the odd pages flipping them round then feeding them in) is also impossible.

It's mono only which is a shame but the quality and speed of printing is exceptional.
Scan quality is backwards; i had an hp all-in-one inkjet before, nearly 10 years old, but it had a much better scanner.
Shipping
Had an hp laser printer, which was pretty fast and clear, but had it a few years so thought i'll invest in another.
Packaging/appearance
Can park out of the way and wirelessly send prints from my phone or laptop.
Was able to print from 2 different devices right away.
Competitiveness
My advices, spend the money on someting else!
Second, the printing of the first side tends to make the paper curl a little, this can result in the paper not being pulled in ... Read More
At 300dpi it's fine, at 600dpi it is slow, and even then detail is a little poor.
