Quality
Print quality is very clear and easy to read.
The print quality is superb and the price cannot be beat.
Disclaimer: the borders in one of my pictures is cut off because i created them with the wrong sized paper!
Quality is excellent on plain paper, card stock, and photographic paper.
Price
The price was right (a little over half of what my nightmare had cost).
The amazon price was considerably lower than what i found at staples, too.
Packaging/appearance
Setup went reasonably well but after printing the first sheet, the printer kept jamming (at least 4 times).
Competitiveness
It handles my wife's pictures she likes to print with great color and clarity.
I have been very pleased with my officejet pro 6978!
Sitting on my desk is my older hp 6978 printer.

It will even reverse the page to print on the back if 2 sided copy is chose

I have 2 cannons fail to print in the last 2 years all the ones b4 that lasted before 2

Im not sure about adaptability for ink outside of hp but the ink subscription makes the cost of the printer worth it overtime not to mention how you wont really ever run of out ink

The printer features isnt the only thing the print has to offer

It removes the middle man in times of urgency like these especially when the file exists on my laptop and not the computer at home

The app is also extremely intuitive so is the touchscreen feature of the printer
