Cheap, inexpensive fix. Will need a phillips screwdriver and needle nose pliers. Lots of screws to remove. Another plastic part nearby uses this part for its screw.
Cons
This is the third switch for my vacuum and they don't last. This requires a solder gun.

Make sure the vacuum is unplugged before replacing the switch

Original switch was burned out by a loose black wire attached to the back of the switch

Unless you think there is something wrong with the wiring you wont need to buy a switch with the wires

In my case it was easy to tell that the switch itself was broken because the button was loose in the socket
