Pros

Leather is thicker by at least a millimetre, with a tie closure. Handle fits very comfortably in my medium-sized hand. Can't say enough about this small axe.

The gransfors has the thicker, and actually about a quarter inch shorter, handle, and it has a rougher feel. Both have the seals of the forges on the heads and handles. The eye opening for the handle is noticeably different in each.

Cons

The one i received looks like a second or knockoff, soft steel. Had no idea it was shipped from from a middle east country.

It was an expensive purchase for my budget, but i wanted one carving tool that was of higher quality than the budget stuff i usually buy.

I have held and used the gransfors bruk interpretation of this axe and found it also to be excellent for my purposes.

The gransfors bruk sheath is utilitarian with a metal snap and no belt loop.
