Pros
Idling around 45 - 50 c which is warmer than i like. My old router needed to be rebooted every couple of weeks, i'm hopeful this firewall setup will be more stable!
The little box is my gateway to internet. I haven't yet made any formal measurements of throughput. The small form factor of the pc is perfect for my home network needs. It's a bit of a pain, but you'll need a usb nic to act as a temporary wan.
Bought thisto replace an aging netgate router/firewall running pfsense. I'm a media horder who runs a usenet pipe almost all the time. They are plug and play with pfsense's memstick installer.
No regrets with this purchase. Would buy from again. Props to the seller for a quick turnaround on that. All and all these are a great deal and they work.
No connectivity issue with my 2. Connecting two 2. Ce's is a breeze. The 2. The second vm is an ubuntu 20.
Cons
The patriot viper steel is definitely dual ranked and incompatible. There is a jumper inside that locks the unit on 100% of the time and disables the power button. Skill, patriot, and corsair was not clearly labeled.

While the product description here implies that this unit comes with opnsense, it actually came with pfsense community edition 2.

Already came with pfsense plus installed and ready to go.

I had an issue after installing pfsense 2.
But, that's expected with a fanless unit.
