Pros & Cons

Pros

Fan blades are rubber isolated for quiet operation. Fan runs quietly and light works just fine. This is in the guest bedroom, it's quiet!

It seems to be hard to do these days, but this one popped up in my search. The hunter installation video's on youtube make it looks so easy to install. Easy installation, better than other brands.

Attaching the fan blades to the motor wound up filling my cuss jar. Soaking them in hot (not boiling) water loosens them up so you don't have to push as hard. Using a magnetic screwdriver bit helps when attaching the smaller screws.

Cons

Installing this 42 fan was very frustrating. I have a 4 inch joist mounted electrical box and the bracket *barely* fits. Once the 1st blade is on the motor swivels such that it’s difficult to get the other blades’ screws started.

The threaded shaft that holds up the bowel (when the nut is * on) is too short.

Quality

This replaced a low hanging gawdy fan with the glass tulip bulb covers.

The problem with this fan design is that the main housing that is flush with the ceiling doesn't fit around the mounting bracket easily.

I thought it should line up with the screw holes and pop on, but you actually push the housing all the way up to the ceiling of...  Read More

Competitiveness

A one person project, the mounting is so much easier than the older models.

My electrician installed a 3-way fan speed switch on both the newly installed fan and an existing fan that had been humming for years.

In that single small room i had a small off-brand cheap-o fan installed - major mistake in my planning.

The housing needs to be flush and you need a 3-way switch.
