However having to put the blades on before the light kit is installed is going to make repainting my ceiling more problematic insofar as i would have to disconnect the light in order to remove the blades

The reason is that the fan brackets where they attach to the motor are not accessible while the light kit is connected

If things go bad and the fan craps out on me in a year i’ll come back and review again regardless
