Pros & Cons
Pros
The one drawback is that it’s only a sponge, not activated charcoal. The suction works well in the tank and does a good job of filtering. It does a very good job. Of aerating the water and some basic filtration of larger stuff.
I have this sponge filter in a 1 gallon nano setup and it's perfect. Bought this for a 2 gallon betta bowl. Now using on a 20 gallon tank in combination with a hob filter. My betta doesn't mind it.
Cons
Mainly just a fancy bubble maker. The quality is disgusting. This bubbler makes the water very rough and stressed out my betta.
Highlights
Quality
The suction works well in the tank and does a good job of filtering.
The filter was very easy to install, compact and performs well in my 2 gallon tank.
It doesn't splash the water out as much as the air stone does and from a distance you can barely hear it !
This results in a huge increase of suction as the water is forced to be pulled through the lower filter even more.
Price
Great price to obtain foam filters which i use for uptake siphons for exterior filters.
You get what you pay for at this price.
