The instructions call for 1 black hot lead 1 white neutral and 1 copper ground connecting to the unit where it should be both black and white wires are hot and 1 ground

Installation difficulty was misleading and is anything but easy most would need to hire an electrician

I ended up using a 50amp circuit breaker

It also appears to instruct a single pole breaker which i don’t believe can even get 240v so i’m not sure how it would have worked with just one hot and nuteral like it advises to in the instructions
