Pros & Cons
Pros
The short scaling is fun, feels like a guitar with bass strings. It's well priced for the beginner. No other bass comes close to that price, and it's a top tier brand quality product.
The mikro is light as a feather, offers just enough features, sounds great - and is just plain fun to play. This thing sounds badass. I may swap them out to half-round or flat wound strings.
Its a great sounding little bass and a lot of fun to play. It's so easy to handle that i can practice for several hours without a problem. It plays great and sounds amazing.
Cons
E string gets this awful harmonic buzz when played higher than the 3rd fret. Tried to change the chord on the bass as well as the tuning knob to no avail. There was severe buzzing on almost every fret and every string.
Originally advertised as normal size. What a terrible design flaw. Not recommended. They need to clarify the size is very small.
Highlights
Quality
No issues with quality, finish and setup.
Sincere kudos to ibanez for producing this gem and the consistency of quality!
Low action, no need to adjust intonation, no dead strings.
The wires became ungrounded, and static was running through the entire amp.
Price
A great little bass for the money for sure!
For the money, this is perfect (for me anyway).
It had no right to be as good as it is for only $200 plus shipping.
I pay $15 a month for not so great custo.
Shipping
My package arrived the next day without paying next day shipping, got lucky.
Packaging/appearance
(picture of my poly job on neck included that is not how yours will come!
I got the walnut color, and while it doesn't have the burnt edge look from the product photo.
I had to set it up out of box, but worth it.
, are pretty much the same as a full size base, just a somewhat smaller package.
Competitiveness
You must purchase d'adario half wound, or any other brand of flat wound strings.
My choice paid off nicely after reading multiple reviews in favor of the gio / mikro .
