The slightly deeper body of the avn1, and pn15 made up for the resonance the thin top l1 is known for, and gives a much greater...  Read More

This is a great playing little guitar with a big guitar sound, but if want to save even more, get the pn15.

The frets are medium, where the original l1 were small (normal) wire frets of the day.

The avn1 is totally bound (unlike the gibson), has bone bridge and nut, outer abalone sound hole ring and abalone fret and pin dots.

I am so happy that ibanez decided to introduce this l1 type guitar, as i would never shell out $3,300.

I ended up comparing the avn1 and its cheaper brother the pn15 to my 19301931 gibson l1 one of my favorites which is what all parlor guitar manufacturers including gibson are shooting for as far as feel and general design

The l1 has a much thinner spruce top mahogany sides back and neck and a slightly larger body which is not as deep 31234 top and 434 bottom as the avn1

The pn15 has a slightly thinner top and downgraded hardware but nothing as thin and cheap as the l1 which was a poor mans guitar

The avn1 is totally bound unlike the gibson has bone bridge and nut outer abalone sound hole ring and abalone fret and pin dots

The neck is flat black the gibson is stained to match the rest of the guitar and the guitar has a high gloss finish where the gibson is a medium gloss

The frets are medium where the original l1 were small normal wire frets of the day
