Pros & Cons
Pros
Ibanez is a brand you can trust, so don’t buy the $150 banjos you’ll find elsewhere - spend the extra cash and get this one. It's not a problem, it's really easy once you understand what you're doing. There are tons of instructional videos that are pr... Read More
Highlights
Quality
This is a good quality banjo and it has a nice strong sound.
It has good tone, stays in tune and is comfortable to hold and play.
You might order an extra set of strings, i broke one setting mine up and tuning it the first time.
I spent an hour getting a loose in box resonator screw (which was, of course, the one under the armrest) back in.
Price
$269 for this banjo is a great price.
Such an amazing value for the money.
For the cost, you really can’t beat the value.
For the money you spend on this one though there probably isn’t a better choice.
Shipping
Great banjo; delivery was quick and well packaged.
Owner was very personable and expedient with shipping.
It arrived the very next day after ordering!
Packaging/appearance
The banjo arrived in great shape, putting the bridge on is the only “assembly” you have to do before you can start tuning and playing.
Competitiveness
This choice is more expensive than some of the other “beginner” banjos, but it’s also far-and-away the best choice in it’s price range.
Compared it to gold tone, recording king and deering.
There are cheaper instruments that mostly sound much worse, and obviously more expensive ones that sound better.

I also could not keep it tuned after attempting multiple times

So i took it to a professional and he said that the banjo and bridge were actually very good quality better than what he typically sees people get for a first banjo but that four of the five tuners needed to be replaced as they were poor quality and would not stay tuned
