    Well first of all the satch track in the neck position is not a single coil at least not natively its a humbucker meticulously crammed into a singlecoil slot which might be why it didnt quite give him the sound he expected

    There is a pushpull pot on the tone knob that splits the coils of the two pickups so you can get a single coil response out of either or both pickups

    For maximum shred you want the bridge pickup and both coils engaged but this guitar is capable of a whole lot more than that and is wasted on somebody that just wants to noodle around

    Any player familiar with electric guitar is familiar with the tone rolloff when you turn the volume down losing some of the sparkle and quack on the treble end sometimes people like this if a guitar is too twangy turned up to 10

    With the volume knob in thats exactly the traditional response you get with the volume knob out and the highpass engaged you get the exact same tone from 0 to 10 no matter where you turn the dial
