You have to loosen the 3 nuts before tuning. They appear to be made to take the strain off the tuning knobs when you use the wah wah bar.

For noobs, read the manuals before changing strings.

So after a lot of cross referencing i found the bridge layout on the manufacturers site and freaked out when i found out i had to cut off the eye piece that normally holds the guitar to the bridge and use a completely bare string and thread it into the holder
