Pros & Cons
Pros
With a little tweaking, this baby has the potential to make you think twice about throwing down a grand on a high end bass. Until someone suggests that i need to upgrade i will continue to enjoy tinkering around with this bargain beauty.
Value per dollar is more than just reasonable, it's just downright fantastic. This bass is a keeper for sure.
With the pj setup of pickups on the tallman, it can get a very similar tone to the fender that costs 4x the price. The pickups are great to hook onto while * and it sounds great! The color is absolutely fantastic and overall it's my favorite instrumen... Read More
The pickup combination and the boost/cut treble and bass controls give it a surprisingly wide range of tone. It's so much faster to dial in a sound than separate volume controls. Very bright, crisp, sounding the bass boost knob really takes it into ano... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Great sound, nice pickups, and great for a beginner.
I have bonded greatly with this instrument and found its features work well for my sound & playing style.
Untighten the bridge action adjusters, because the initial action provides an awful fret buzz on your 1st to 2nd fret.
Controls are split with the first being volume & blend ( controls pickups) and active split treble and bass controls to cut & b... Read More
Price
This bass is amazing for the cost.
Great value for the money and it plays very well.
I was looking for something below 300$ to fill a stay-at-home position.
As long as you understand this, and realize that's why the price is so low, you should be able to manage your expectations.
Shipping
Arrived a couple of days early, and unharmed.
Packaging/appearance
The seller packed this like a champ and was totally ready to just tune up and slap away.
Let it get to room temperature before opening the packaging.
Looked great out of the box, after some initial basic set up (tuning, duh!
Competitiveness
Best comparison would be a squire jazz bass, with the quality of an ibanez.
And this bass is far superior than those 90 to 100 dollars models found on the cheaper side things .
