A few notes on this drive bay it has a power switch which is a good thing as it allows you to power down the drive and let it spool down before removal as when you remove the drive its not super smooth process which is likely the case with most similar items

Im running windows 10 with an asus prime b350 plus motherboard and by default all of the sata channels have hot swap turned off so in windows unless i rebooted after swapping drives in the bay it would not recognize them until i turned hot swap to on for that channel in the bios until i changed that setting

Ive had other drive enclosures like this but the drives had to be fastened into a tray and then could be inserted into the chassis

Words with windows xp computer and i was able to add 2tb hdd into it as a backup hard drive
