They stay locked in position

Negatives the lock levers are plastic which might possibly break on a multiday trip which would leave you with a useless pole

First time i used them one of the upper locks the plastic broke and so it can not be used to lock it in place on the top

I expect them to last three years maybe four which means the carbon fiber high end poles would have to last ten years to justify their expense
