This low-voltage extension solves those two issues. And is safer, as the voltage is human-safe level on the cord. Work well for my solar project.

Snug fit end to end. It coils up small and the end caps keep the pins from getting messed up. One end is connected to a battery saver.

Dust caps have retainers to keep them with the cable and not get lost. Cable comes in a resealable plastic pouch for storage. Comes with caps to keep moisture and debris out of the connections.

This cable is higher quality than the cable that came with my battery maintainer. Even though the cable is heavy duty it is still fairly pliable. Heavy duty cable is flexible but durable.

The polarity is reversed when used with a receptacle. I'm not an electrician or anything, but something with these wires wouldn't let the battery tender push the correct amount of volts to the battery.
