Pros

Good quality (ul certified) power adapter and slides in place quickly. Goes into standby when not used for a long period of time and wakes back up when selected. Fine for me because it stays in the studio.

It works fine as far as being recognized by the os and transferring data. Easy to install and was instantly recognized by my mac. Using it to backup my windows server machine.

Led position and operation may be a deal breaker for some. Metal mesh is nice and the plastics feel very durable. Pleased with this enclosure.

The first has been working with the netgear nighthawk x6s router for over a year.

Price

The good:+ reasonable price+ no tools required to install/remove disk.

Usb3 is a lot faster of course.

Packaging/appearance

Removed the wd mycloud drive from the factory enclosure, slid into the inateck enclosure, connected to mac.

Could not reformat for regular data storage in the existing wd mycloud box, so i ordered the inateck external enclosure.

Competitiveness

Works as intended on my 12tb seagate drive

Love that it has its own power source and up to 6gb speeds.

I bought this to house a 2tb seagate hard drive that i removed from a seagate goflex network drive that seagate decided to stop supporting.

I wanted to re-use a 3tb sata hard drive cannibalized from an old nas.
