I was hesitant to try a carry on back pack when i traveled in asia for two weeks but absolutely happy i made the choice.
We got them in the overhead compartment on our flights to thailand, but had to check them on the way back.

We packed our own things plus some for our two children, who carried much smaller bags.
I was able to pack for a week out if the country and everything was tucked neatly inside

It is very flexible like a regular backpack since the sides are not sturdy like regular luggage and the zippers held on for dear life and survived

I had a bit of an issue last year where all my backpacks have been ripping and bursting at the seams because i overload the living hell out of them
