Competitiveness
I use mine with a 4tb & mac book pro for dj work.
I put a 1tb hd in my old sky+ box, when i upgraded to sky q i wanted to create an external hd and this is the perfect item to achieve that.
5 disks in and out as required, both hdd and ssd, although mostly it runs with a 4tb 3.
I purchased one of these years ago to connect a 2tb hdd to a tp-link router to give a file share to the home network.

I had a little difficulty recovering data from the hard drive i put in it but that turned out to be down to my own incompetence although it came without any instructions at all which didnt help

Supplied with a nice chunky usb cable and a power brick this device turned up immediately on plugging everything in as a mass storage device on my linux server and formatting partitioning and copying some 200gb of data to a new drive worked faultlessly

Despite being completely made of plastic the drive was barely warm to the touch afterwards although the transfer took a long time since i only have usb2 on this old machine

Writing dummy data to the drive i can clock it faster than my internal drive although transferring real data between the two only gave me 1015mbs at maximum on larger contiguous files

The drive light stays on while usb is connected regardless of whether the units switch on or the mains adaptor is on or even if it contains a drive i guess its really a transfer light despite its icon of a traditional spinning hard disc
