I always kept the moka pot on the burner and went about my work and the spurting sound which is quite loud in my old pot was audible for me to realize that the coffee is done when the noise starts, this one the noise is inaudible unless you're standing in the kitchenstill it surpasses all that is available online - so a good buy - wish they change the handle design, wrote to the company tooordered 3 more for gifting but was not happy with the excessive plastic and bubblewrap packaging which was not needed - all you needed was maybe additional cardboard sheets inside the individual boxes containing the pot as it was already in a thick outer boxbig co's should be more conscious and work towards environmental friendly packaging with so much awareness about the damage its causing  Read Less
