Obviously there is no guard as with first aid snips so caution needed if cutting tight clothing away from skin and especially since the one scissor blade is semisharpened on the outside good for splitting parcel tape but so is a key

The serrations at the inside of the scissors work well to grip the thing being cut so the force is applied directly to cutting rather than the item sliding forwards out of the jaws as would be the case if there were no serrations
