Pros & Cons
Pros
The width, oh the glorious width. I like how much wider this one is making it alot easier to saute and make rice dishes. It's about 3/4 of our standard stove top, so if limited counter space is an issue for you, you may want a smaller unit.
My only disappointment is there is no setting for manual pressure on this model. The different variety of settings allows ease with use. Overall excellent instant pot.
I’m a * for anything new. The steam valve works much nicer than the older rotation style so you dont have to worry about scalding yourself on the steam from the valve. The ip takes a while, about 25 minutes after setting the lid on.
The rio is a instant pot that has outstanding quality and is worth the value. It is lighter weight than my previous instant pot which makes it easier to move around. It has all the features from the original ip and is larger than our usual 6qt.
Cons
It takes forever to come out of preheat mode if it comes out at all. Just loads of steam barreling out of the valve that is supposed to seal. The pressure valve is doesn’t hold pressure. Very much dissapointed with rice cooker option.
Locking issue, because it downgraded with the switch vs the rotational thingy. It takes absurd amounts of time to reach pressure.
Highlights
Quality
I love the button to switch between seal and vent mode.
Great upgrade from a traditional pressure cooker.
Bought this to replace my first ip that was 5 years old and decide to no longer work.
Cleanup is a breeze since the components are dishwasher safe.
Price
Overall, this is a great value for the money and easily the most used gadget in my kitchen.
Competitiveness
Easier to use compared with our ip duo( purchased in 2018).

If you plan on making both savory and sweet dishes id suggest having a separate ip for each as it does retain odors but that is the case with every pressure cooker ive ever owned
