Pros

Makes it easy for mashed potatoes, meat and beans especially because it is a little more shallow and a wider rim. Takes time for the pot to heat up to searing temps after putting in the meat.

The slower cooker is crock pot quality. It doubles as a slow cooker. We use to love making sangria in our old cooker. It’s safer than a pressure cooker, and does a much better job than my old crock pot.

The steam valve works much nicer than the older rotation style so you dont have to worry about scalding yourself on the steam from the valve. It’s now a button that you slide to start the steam release, which makes it a lot less terrifying to do.

It has to be seen in person to appreciate. Positives:*settings are clear and intuitive.

It's about 3/4 of our standard stove top. Takes up a lot of precious countertop real estate. The only negative is it takes a bit of real-estate in the cupboard.

Cons

It has low, medium and high settings and the product manual doesn’t specify anywhere what temps these equate to. No plans to purchase this particular product until such related accessory (accessories) are immediately available.

Works great - real easy clean up

I've used several of the settings for pressure cooking, done a lot of sautéing and even made a stew with the slow cooker features.

The pressure cooker broke down a cheep piece of pork to a tender roast.

Price

All to say that this instapot is worth every penny.

Wish i'd paid more for the final version.

This product was not boxed for shipping.

My only complaint has nothing to do with the product but rather the shipping company.

Competitiveness

This cheaper model is not as safe (unpredictable release of steam, by comparison) & there is no spare gasket.
