Pros
The rio wide works well, has a good user interface, and has what appears to be safer steam release than any other mechanism i've seen. There is no simmer mode but several other modes work fine for doing so.
The 3 qt pressure cooker is great for a rice cooker or very small batches of food. Made a delicious stew in 30 mins. The pot roast recipe is a simple winner.
Cons
The instant pot ultra 60 ultra 6qt cooker is out of warranty. Its heating element is woefully weak. The pressure sensors will die 2-4 years after warranty expiration. It is impossible to cook anything without a constant burn alert.

Price
Every slow cooker & steamer i checked out was double & triple the price of what i’d previously paid in the past.
Packaging/appearance
Sending it in it's original box without hiding what was in it was a big let-down as a surprise christmas gift.
So i thought outside the box & saw my insta pot on sale and realized it had slow cooker & steamer plus a whole lot of other cook choices!
I did have un issue whith the first package it was damaged but i have a new one.
It came with a dent in the exterior but seems to work great.
Competitiveness
I have another name brand pot (n*n**) but it's so heavy and huge.
