Originally i had ordered a more expensive card reader but the usb fitting was too small being a micro usb which wasnt clear in the advert

So the only way to access the photos on the camera is by removing the cf card and then transferring the images to a computer

The cf cards are by their nature really fragile and sensitive the pins are the problem therefore the card must be inserted in the reader very gently and slow loose hand and make sure it goes in the right place dont push force it if you feel like its not going in the right place take it out and try again and make sure you insert the card straight not angled

Care still needs to be taken when inserting the card into the reader as pins can be easily bent
