Pros

It looks like the best of the tiny desktops to me as a non-gamer. It plays everything including 4k movies without a hitch. It is a great little computer for everything except aaa gaming.

Intel nuc 8 is a mid-tier nuc with a built-in mini-hdmi port. The best thing is the fast bluetooth - i now use wireless mouse and keyboard, among other things. The nucs are made with quality parts and include thunderbolt and on case microphones.

The software/os is rock (roon optimized core kit) which is a custom linux. Installed windows from a usb & it just works perfectly. Can even install hackintosh if desired.

The intel 8th gen i3 processor is still very capable for most people. For cpu intensive tasks, this 8th gen starts to show its age in 2021.

This is a screamer that runs very well. Very little fan noise. Runs cool in my configuration. I run it in a network rack anyway.

Cons

Intel has not rectified the issue for this generation. The lightning port is worthless.

Very pleased with the size, speed, and nearly silent operation.

Great little computer, comes with the vesa mounts for putting behind your tv.

The cable was replaced with a higher quality one (larger gauge wires), the problem was disappeared.

The product description needs to reflect the fact that some units do not come with the required c5 type power cord connector.

5 ssd and mac os on the nvme drive for dual boot.

Competitiveness

It's powering a 4tb hd with over 2k movies so far.

5 and a 512gb nvme ssd that screams.

I added samsung 500gb ssd's and ram and that was it.

Get the ssd and it would power up in less than 30 sec.
