Within the box is the processor which is contained in its own transportation sleeve. Also contained within is the stock cooler and thermal paste. Cooled by a antec h1200 cooler.

Cons
K is not a good heavy multitasker. L3 batch of 4790k's are known to have overheating issues.
When i look back at my decision to return to intel, i realise it was a 'panic buy' and in the process, i compromised my ethics. Nvidia wants in on the hbm action but due to patent reasons, they have to wait one year.

Price
For the price i paid for this, i have never looked back.
This thing is great at both gaming and rendering for this price.
High end gaming today is obviously leagues ahead but so are the prices.
Competitiveness
Great processor, it even out competed some skylake and kaby lake processors.
They far surpass rival processors when it comes to technology.
Probably going to go with a ryzen 9 3950x.
Although this type of cpu is now having to compete with amd's line of ryzen processors, i think it very much depends on your requirements.

This fan is nice and cheap which to be honest made me concerned at first

But after playing several games and putting the processor under several stress tests the temperature has never reached above 55 degrees c which im fairly certain is a solid temperature

Once the processor was installed and i booted up my pc the first thing i noticed was the frequency windows 10 was reporting 4

I have not overclocked and i even had to double check the product details but i was surprised to see that it is only described as 4ghz
