Pros & Cons
Pros
Reviewer built a sff pc with an rtx 4070 for 1440p focused gaming and it absolutely dominates. Full ultra settings with no less than 60fps in gw2 with 150+ players on the screen. Thy clock speeds dance with lightning's might, bringing forth swiftness t... Read More
This processor demolishes any workstation/gaming task i throw at it. This gives me a little wiggle room when i'm debugging a system. It also handles streaming those as well.
The standout feature of the intel core i5-13600k is its 14 cores. It beats even the best cpus from 2 or 3 years ago and beats i7s from intels 12th gen easily. The 13th gen cpu's from intel are very impressive.
Longevity remains to be seen, but so far i can say, good job intel. Best bang for the buck.
It smashes everything i have tossed at it, keeps my 4080 at 100% in 4k games. The only con i can think of is the temps with factory motherboard settings. It's a peace of mind not having to worry about cpu bottlenecks for current gen.

Save your money and roll with the 13600k that continues to drop in price.
Competitiveness
Intel definitely made one hell of a gaming cpu, that performs better than 5800x3d and it’s cheaper.
If you decide to go with an intel processor, this is the best price to performance option.
In overclocking performance this thing beats the i9-12900k, and rivals the i7-14700k.
After much consideration i chose the i5-13600k as it seemed to have the best performance to price ratio.
