Pros

It’s a powerful, fast, multi threading capable processor that will be like rocket fuel for your jet. Definition of “bang for your buck”.

Light gaming puts it at 5-10% usage, heavy gaming brings at up to 25% tops. Mostly use this for analyses & cad software and games. Amazing for gaming, browsing the internet, or productivities.

I9 9900k is a very good processor, especially for gaming. With a great upgrade from i5-8400. This in my opinion is the best upgrade for the 1141 socket type. Saw immediate improvement from my old i7 9700k.

It's a straightforward drop in replacement. It only takes a google search to find the bios update files. Then you need to oc the cpu, so that it matches the gpu.

Cons

It's clearly visible so whoever accepted the return only checked that there was a cpu in the box, if that. Return was started within 15 minutes of it being delivered.

This cpu pairs great with the rtx 3080 fe.

The processor works great and is super fast for gaming and overkill most desktop type work.

Now i'm more worried that a 3080 will bee too much for the 9900k.

It had no chance with the 9900k, i was hitting 100 degrees just booting up.

Price

The price was great as well when picked up on black friday.

This newer 9900k is certainly better than the 1st srels model i got.

I thought the 4790k and the 980ti was a perfect union with no bottle neck.

Bought an i9 9900k new, packaging comes in and i get scammed with a scratched i5 540.

I bought the 1st one right after the 9900k came out and it clocks to 5.

Competitiveness

I would 100% recommend this to anyone that already has a lga1151 300-series board or an older board with a modded bios.

It works well with my asrock z370 ib-r motherboard.

So i purchased a coolermaster 240mm aio, and temps were slightly better, but not much.

I had a 8700k @5ghz before this , i scored 1541 on cinibench r19 .
