Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

It's heavy but not as heavy as a real kayak. It seems pretty strong and durable. The traveling bag that comes with it seems like it’s very well constructed.

Only complaint is that the skeg (rudder/fin on the bottom) is really difficult to get off sometimes. Only thing i would change is the fishing pole holders to make them more useful and maybe add a blow up spot for an integrated bottle holder.

Cons

Potential buyers beware. The service program for manufacture defective parts is active for 90 days from the date of purchase along with a copy of the receipt.

Two leaks when inflating it (one on the starboard side panel and one on the bottom panel) bottom deflated on first use and won’t keep air.

The bar mount just slides into loops on the side, and isn't stabilized. Pretty bummed. No support, whatsoever.

All it's good for is a clip-on cupholder or leashing up something you're not worried about losing. Inflatable kayak as a concept is a great idea - just never by from intex.

Quality

Surprised at the quality of this kayake.

Overall i am very pleased with the kayak and hopes it last a few years.

The softer shell premium seats that come with the excursion do not hold air.

The issue with the seats lead to being very uncomfortable after an hour or so on the water.

Price

Price is right for this excellent kayak.

For the price, you can't really beat it.

Packaging/appearance

I used the deflate on my pump as well which made these super easy to pack back up in the bag.

I'll start off by saying that i found the intex explorer k2 inflatable kayak to be a flaming pile of crap.

Competitiveness

This is the second intex excursion pro k2 that i have purchased.
