Pros

Overall it works well. Works nicely. Fairly inexpensive. Inexpensive. Great customer service.

Cons

The range on this thing is truly awful. As you can see by the photo i uploaded, the motion detector in that unit cannot rotate any higher & it only catches a person about 8 feet from the unit. Range is aweful.

The ring app just crashes when i try to do anything around setting up an echo as a ring bridge. It’s not tied into lighting or anything and is supposed to simply announce that location via an alexa routine.

Their battery spotlight with sensor appears to have the same problems - i’m guessing the motion sensor is the same. The batteries drain fast (possible because the moving sun is always triggering them). When i replace new batteries it says the battery ...  Read More

The motion sensor is not very sensitive. When i increase sensitivity it triggers too often. They also provide an option to suppress in daylight but that setting appears to be useless.

The detector constantly sends motion-detected alerts when no one is there. The 40-second delay means the doorbell isn't triggered to record any sooner than it recorded without the additional motion detector.

Quality

Good quality like the rest of the ring products.

Daniel is going to go check with the app developers.

I placed the sensor on the fence at the side of the house and linked my lights so they will turn on with the motion detection.

Wish the sensitivity was a little stronger, though.

Competitiveness

This is a well-made accessory for ring systems, but you can also use it by itself (or with ring) on your alexa system to control routines.

Updated review:i received a call from daniel from ring support today.

I have a 100ft driveway and i installed this on the inside of my mailbox door.

Old review:the motion sensors can’t talk to chimes, the motion rage is 3’-9’ at best.
