Pros
I use my echo as a hub, and the indoor light came with it. They are mounted above my patio doors and camera on a 1st floor patio. Linked to the backyard motion detector light.
These lights use rechargeable cr123 lithium ion batteries. Even ring suggests that you plug in the lights to charge their batteries if there are a couple of cloudy days in a row. I have them set to come on from dusk to 2am.
The light is pretty darn efficient with their power consumption. It conserves a lot of battery life. My only complaint is that the bracket that enable the light to slide into the bracket, are plastic.
Cons
These are by far the cheapest and poorly designed. They keep falling off the cheap mounting bracket design. Cs reps have been very nice but ring/amazon policy is not.

There is one that is shaded in the winter and i’ve had to manually charge it via usb inside when the sun angle was too low

I was initially frustrated with all my ring lights including an indoor socket light because they were all going offline at least 3 times a day

Long story short even though the ring lights connect to the echo hub my netgear nighthawk router was the culprit

And the solar step lights work reliably as i have them programmed when one senses motion they all fade up

They do need to be in range of your echo or ring hub to work reliably

With this schedule they operate in a dim mode to save battery but fade up to your set brightness when motion is detected

After you charge the battery for the first time the sunlight takes care of the rest
