It clamps the tablet in securely you dont need to worry about it falling out trust me last night i fell asleep with it still in position woke up around 2am needing a drink and leant up and hit it the tablet did not come out of the holder and the clamp did not disconnect from the chest of drawers

One minor issue is that after you adjust it you need to stabilize it because it wobbles like crazy at the slightest touch
