The other thing that it lacked was anything to protect either the earphone or charging ports from dust grease and debris something that ruined one of my previous phones for which i used separately purchased little plugs except keeping the charging port plugged when there was the phone wasnt charging was hard to hard to do with a separate little plug to keep track of

The builtin attached earphone and charging port covers work perfectly and seem reasonably robust and they make up for what is in my opinion an inherent design weakness in the iphone

Yes the plastic fades over time and the yellowing starts at the edges but depending on the color of your phone it’s not overly apparent
