You do risk a broken screen as there isn't much front protection, but that goes with the territory when you buy a thin case.

I do use a screen protector because the case doesnt seem very protective

There is a faint white dot pattern all over the case that isnt visible from a distance and doesnt really bother me but dont expect a crystal clear phone case

As a result of it being soooooo thin it does not cover the screen

Unfortunately for the front there is basically no lip that prevents the phone from resting on its front screen
