The material is plastic but also sort of soft and flexible which prevents the case from shatteringcracking if you drop your phone

The only 2 differences between this one and my previous one is that this is less flexible making it harder to take off to change out the personal photos i like to put beneath it and this one does not have the tab covering the lightning plug opening

The corners are reinforced and are slightly higher than the face of the phone to protect against dropping on the screen
